Writing…
Howdy folks. PostItPoetry is still getting penned down. Pardon our dust while we work out the wiring behind the scenes.
Keep Writing.
The four-one-one
Post-It Poetry is poetry written on our favorite modern medium, the Post-It note.
The idea is to take those little yellow squares which are often used for jotting down notes and turn them into homes for uniquely constrained poems.
How it works
- Get a stack of Post-it notes. Get a pen, or even better, a black marker.
- Take a deep breath and a drink of water. Write a poem on the Post-it. Rhyming, not rhyming, free verse, haiku, iambic pentameter, whatever floats your boat. As long as it fits *legibly* on the Post-it. If it’s too small to read, we can’t enjoy it. Titles are good as well.
- Send that puppy over. Take a picture of your poem written on a post-it note and email it to PostItPoem@gmail.com. Please submit a picture of your post-it poem and not a short poem typed out. Author name (even a fun pen name) and age in the subject line or email body is encouraged, but anonymous work will also be accepted. Emails are forwarded to an alternate email address, then deleted; your email address will never be saved in any way. You can also submit by posting on our Facebook page. Start writing!
- I post your Post-it poems on this blog for all to enjoy. Comment, share, write poems in response to other poems.
